Animal Control Collateral

A council is responsible for many things, one of which is animal control. As part of an educational campaign I was asked to create some suitable collateral.

The Brief

Every year the animal control team at the Wairoa District Council runs into the same issues when it comes to dogs. For the wellbeing of the dog and the owner, being a responsible pet parent is so important. Sadly, not everyone is and handing out warnings or fines doesn't always help. Instead, the council wants to tackle these issues early on and educate people on specific subjects that are of high importance to pet owners.

A Uniek Solution

I was given specific subjects and content and worked closeky together with the animal control team to create cohesive collateral: a Dogs In Heat brochure and nine images for Facebook, covering a range of topics. I delivered the final brochure including graphics and improved on the content provided by the client to ensure it would resonate with the target audience. I coordinated production of the flyers and supplied the Facebook images with a description, so the client could roll out their new collateral

straight away.

For the overall look and feel of the designs, I decided to create a dog mascot to guide people through the mixture of information. Although she has remained nameless to this day, she has a strong character and has the beautiful ability to look straight into your soul the way only dogs can. Oh, and Billy may or may not have influenced my decision in choosing a Lab mascot for this project...
